mobile tremorlator and new emergency handbook for singaporeans

Prepare Singaporeans better for emergencies

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) has come up with a Mobile Tremolator to help people in Singapore be better prepared in the event of earth tremors. Although far from any earthquake zones, Singapore nonetheless experiences gentle tremors from time to time, usually from distant quakes in the Indian Ocean.

The Mobile Tremorlator, developed in conjunction with local students; provides emergency preparedness exercises by simulating earthquake tremors in a home setting.

All Singaporeans also receive the Emergency Handbook, now in its sixth edition, which provides a guide for families and individuals to react better in the event of nationwide emergencies, such as finding access to shelters, and what to do in the event of a fire.
